The Commonwealth Secretariat, in collaboration with the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade (MEDT), Government of Maldives, is working to strengthen the capacity of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) operating within the Republic of Maldives' creative economy. The in-depth study of the creative economy sector is being carried out. Ms.Deepali Gotadke, founder of WebDreams, India, is the consultant with the CW who will provide technical assistance for this study.

This initiative aims to help MSMEs effectively utilize existing and emerging domestic and international e-commerce platforms and tools. The project places special emphasis on enhancing the participation of home-based workers, youth, and women entrepreneurs, while improving the overall competitiveness of small businesses in the creative sectors through technical training and business development support.
